Crafts

Emergents support and nurture professional craft makers and fashion designers.

The Highlands and Islands are recognised as an area that truly values the nurturing of creative talent and we are home to some of the most outstanding and successful creative businesses.

It is our aim to support and develop this talent, from emerging to well established businesses and to make a real difference to the economic & creative life of the area.

Emergents works to support a wide range of professional craft makers creating contemporary and traditional work. We also work with fashion designers and producers. Craft disciplines include ceramics, glass, millinery, furniture, jewellery, metalwork, wood, lettering, musical instruments, paper, basket making, willow weaving, mosaics, textiles (woven, embroidered, printed).

Due to our funding remit we currently do not represent fine art, painting, drawing, photography, printing on paper, candle, soap or cake making, stationery and any work made by the assembly of wholly bought-in materials or kits. Unless otherwise stated, we currently only work with businesses based in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland & Moray.

If you are unsure is your work fits our criteria please get in touch.
