Winter Open exhibition – Moray Art Centre
Application SUBMISSION DEADLINE : MONDAY 13th NOVEMBER 2017
ALL entrants notified by Monday 20th November 2017
Exhibition dates: 28th November to 22nd December 2017.

This is Moray Art Centre’s first Winter Open exhibition, of fine and applied arts.

Submissions may be in any discipline: painting, sculpture, new media, digital, printmaking, ceramics, glass, photography, but MUST be able to hang securely (by the artist) on a wall or not exceed 1m³.

This open submission is an opportunity for students, graduates, emerging and established artists from Moray and beyond to exhibit their work in the FOYER GALLERY and COMMUNITY GALLERY.

Prize: The winner will be awarded a SOLO SHOW in the MAIN GALLERY , newly refurbished, at some point during the ensuing 12 month period.

This first Winter Open exhibition we shall be selecting works that will complement the exhibition that will be showing in the Main gallery. This exhibition will be a selection of black and white photographs from Ragnar Axelsson, an Icelandic photographer who documents pictorially the lives of indigenous people of the circumpolar North www.rax.is

Submission fees:

  • £5 per single submission
  • £10 for 2 submissions
  • £12 for 3 submissions (max)

You will be notified whether you have been successful or not by Monday 20th November. The selected works must be available to be hung by the artist on Monday 27th November. All works must be available for sale (no further commission taken due to submission fees). All remaining work will need to be collected on the morning of Friday 5th January 2018.

Works will be selected by Moray Art Centre’s Exhibition Panel.

The curated exhibition will then be judged by Moray School of Art staff, and the winner of MAC’s first Winter show will be announced at a Private View on Fri. 1st December 2017.

Artists can submit a maximum of 3 works. Each submission must include payment made by the following: cheque made payable to ‘Moray Art Centre’, or made over the phone to 01309-692426, or in person at Moray Art Centre. Submission fees are non-refundable, and MAC will reserve the right to refuse any works, even when once accepted, should they fall short of gallery standards.

If you are selected for the exhibition more information will be provided in terms of delivery and collection of work. Please make sure your contact details are correct to facilitate this.
