Now in its sixteenth year, the Glenfiddich Artists in Residence Programme once again has attracted a dazzling array of talent from around the world.
Each artist spends three months being inspired by the unique atmosphere of Glenfiddich and producing new works reflecting their experiences.
The first exhibition will feature new works by four of this summer’s residents. Stanislava Pinchuk, who was born in the Ukraine but now resides in Melbourne Australia will unveil three new works on paper inspired by the landscape of Speyside and how this directly feeds into the production of Scotch whisky.
Each drawing is created by painstakingly perforating the paper in a process not similar to tattooing to creating a series of subtle contours.
From Korea, Jeehee Park will present a mixed media instillation using as its departure point the now world famous triangular bottle design of Hans Schleger.
First introduced in 1956 this iconic design was initially used for Grants Standfast with a green version being produced 1961 for Glenfiddich single malt.
Also showing in this exhibition will be new works by Taiwanese painter Chen Ching Yuan and Chinese sculptor Zhang Ruyi whose influences are include the local surroundings of Glenfiddich and the very Scottish tradition of home baking!
All are welcome to the private view being held at 6.30 pm on Friday 28th July 2017 where the usual cocktails and canapés will be served.
The gallery will then be open to the public from Saturday 29th July until Sunday 20th August
Between these dates the gallery will be open each day (except Mondays and Tuesdays) for 12.30pm till 5.30pm.
