SIT Select Showcase - Emergents Makers group stand

Emergents would like to invite newly established Highlands and Islands makers to apply for a place on a group stand at SIT Select, taking place this October 2015 in Cheltenham.
SITselect is launching a major new event – THE SELECT SHOWCASE - on October 23-24-25 2015 at Cheltenham Town Hall in the heart of the Cotswolds. Cheltenham is a busy thriving regency town and home to Cheltenham Festivals.
The SELECT SHOWCASE will be an inspiring three days, showcasing the best in British contemporary craft and design bringing you the opportunity to show and sell your work to new audiences at this exciting new 3-day showcase.
Alongside the established craft maker stands will be emerging new talent and a section of graduate work. Visitors can buy direct from the makers, commission new work and learn how pieces are created

Selection will be by panel and all makers will be notified by the 14th April 2015

*Please note that your successful application is not a guarantee of a place as we will have to apply to SIT as a group and will not have confirmation of our place before the end of May.
Criteria:
- Open to all professional makers and designers based in the Highlands and Islands, working to a high standard either full or part time.
- Priority will be given to makers who are on our Making Progress for New Start Up programme 2014/15 and those considering applying for the 2015/16 intake in September.
- Priority will also be given to makers working in textiles and who are within the first 2 years of establishing their business.
We will select up to 4 makers for the showcase.
Selection will be based on quality as well as ensuring that there is a coherent collection of work.
Please include a link to your website together with up to 4 images ( High res, min 300 dpi and no more than 1mb per image) that gives an example of the type of work you intend to exhibit. Please give an indication of the retail price of the work.
As this is a retail showcase and work is for sale, we will require you to supply back up pieces to replace work sold and also to provide Emergents with catalogues, cards and relevant information for commissions.
What we will cover:
- Emergents will fund the cost of the showcase, including set up and all display material.
- Emergents will offer 4 x travel and accommodation bursaries to the successful makers of £150.
- Makers will be responsible for all other costs including their subsistence, delivery of work and costs for attending the conference and events.
- Successful applicants will be expected to attend the event and assist with set up, take down and manning the stand.
- Emergents will not take any commission on work sold and makers should provide a retail price list for the work in the showcase.
- Full details of the programme, exact times and dates and other related information will be sent out once we have confirmation of our stand.
